I spent a week hiking around Groten CT for a story for the Science Channel. It was ZERO degrees. Myself and my gear held up pretty well. I had to stuff my boots with 3 hand warmers each. Did i mention there was a foot of snow on the ground. They have reason to believe that the Irish may have settled way before Columbus.
